The First Hello.

Hi.

Welcome to adorn and bloom.

I am so excited that you are here.

Happy FOURTH OF JULY.

Today is my favorite holiday because it is all focused on freedom, community, watermelon and fireworks- so this felt like the perfect day to announce whats been stirring in my heart.

I’ve spent a lot of time recently feeling alone.

I have also spent quite a few years helping build communities so these two things seem to contradict. And in the midst of a night filled with too many salt and vinegar chips and tates gluten free cookies, I decided I needed to be me again.

bum bum buummm…

Insert adorn and bloom. You can read all about the heartbeat of it on the story page.

I wanted to create a space for you. And for me. And for those that need love, or encouragement, or a friend. And I have amazing friends who want to help too. I have stories, they have stories, and I love to connect all our stories so we stop feeling so alone on tiny sinking islands. (Have you ever felt like that? No? Just me?)

Plus, I think maybe just maybe its time to start making a difference. Its time to get up off my bed and open my eyes to the possibilities all around me. Its time to see again, that life is stunning and beautiful and really really hard. Its not fair and bad things happen for absolutely no reason at all and yet God is still good. And its the goodness He has been stretching me in the most.

I thought I always knew the kind of woman I wanted to be, the kind that gets married young, has babies and lives happily ever after in a cute little house in NW Portland, and sadly I didn't end up being her. And Ive learned there is for sure disappointment in that, but there also has been amazing adventures and a ton of fun.

And I have learned that I want to be a woman that changes the course of history. And not even in a huge everyone knows me way kind of way- but in a way where I poured into the lives of people that went on to have their names known. That my name would be a staple on the thank you pages of countless books just because I was willing to love and show up when no one else would. I want to pour out my heart and soul into the lives of people.

So you matter, and I am here for you. I really hope you join me in this journey.

Britt
